new subsidiary of CID GmbH
CID GmbH has founded a new subsidiary which is called Pattern Science AG. In this way the CID group concentrates its know how regarding computer linguistics and machine learning methods.
Our information society consumes much and we like it – text, audio and video information and, best, in real-time. The internet contains information which increases continuously and which outstrips the human imagination. Today, it’s normal to consume information which is explicitly recommended because it is easy to find. But maybe the more interesting information, because of being more useful, remains hidden because we aren’t able to find them. In this way agglomerate knowledge is archived in the internet, but it is stored in a way which is incomprehensible to computers. Up to now a machine is able to read information out like a human being is able to read tea leaves – it understands nothing. Although the computer obtains precise instructions how to translate the received data into forms, sounds and colors, it isn’t possible to interpret them.
One of the targets of the Pattern Science AG is developing methods to make machines classifying contents, identifying important (semantic) connections between the content and generating recommendation for users. The „Semantic Web“ - which is also called Web 3.0 – is in the starting blocks and it will remarkably increase the visualization and utilization of information.
New offers and methods for commercial as well as for industrial areas arise from the development results of the Pattern Science AG. The essential target markets are media and digital advertisement, financial and trading branches. The products of Pattern Science AG are available for our customers in form of licensable software components and it is possible to implement them in new or existing solutions.
