CID Baltic – member of international group of companies CID – continues cooperation with Kaunas technology university (KTU) Career centre

Three years in a row CID Baltic becomes the general sponsor of the KTU Career fair. The sixth annual Career Fair provided the opportunity for students to speak with representatives from 50 organizations and companies.

KTU Career Days attracts a number of companies and students every year. Nearly 2.000 students and graduates visited the Contact Fair this year to meet the finest employers from Lithuania and abroad. “Crisis time will pass and then to look for good professionals will be too late. We think that participation in KTU Career Fair will help select the best professionals later. Career Fair is not a Day-Pass event for us– by participating in this Fair we plan further activities. Although some companies take part in such events just to gather data on potential employees we offer real vacant jobs for students. For example, 30 different levels of management and technical staff joined our team last year. Plenty of selected employees are the students, which filled our questionnaires during the last Fair. During Career Fair 2010 we offered for students to take the professions of developers or testers“, − says CID Baltic Director General Aidas Kavaliauskas.

Representatives from CID Baltic tried to give as much as possible information about the work and practice at the company, its projects abroad and Lithuania, used technologies, work atmosphere, career opportunities. Students who wanted to work or practice at CID Baltic was given the opportunity to fill the forms. Most jobseekers are 22−23 year’s old students, with little practical experience.

KTU Career Days is a traditional contact fair for students and companies. The direct clarification of both sides’ needs and exchanging of contacts is the main idea of the event. This event allows students to learn first-hand about potential employers for full-time jobs after graduation. Students communicating directly with employers have the opportunity to know more about market trends, priorities and requirements of the future employers'. Students receive more personal information to facilitate career planning, identify areas where they lack knowledge. In this way, students gain the necessary specialized knowledge and become competitive in the labor market.

Within five years 424 companies and 12.500 students took part in KTU Career Days. According to KTU Career Centre data, after the last years’ Fair more than 400 students found full-time jobs or place of practice.
